CRST is Hiring!!!

Crstlogo
If you are a driver who recently graduated from driving school and would like to become a professional driver in as short a time as possible CRST is the company for you. We can give you the time behind the wheel you need to get up to speed. We will provide you with more experience in a few months than you can get with other carriers, and the pay to match. If you are tired of sitting at a rail head waiting to pick up a trailer or tired of making short haul runs to grocery stores to live unload, and you want to run long haul and earn the money that only high mileage will pay, give us a call or check out our website at www.joincrst.com. CRST is 50 years old this year, the nation's largest team carrier, and we can get you out on the road instead of sitting!

We know that mechanical breakdowns and weather delays, especially in the winter months can take a bite out of your paycheck. To offset that we will guarantee that during your time out with a trainer you will get a flat rate of pay. Students whose training was sponsored by CRST will be paid $350 per week. Recent graduates and CDL holders with no experience will be paid $400 per week. This pay begins immediately upon being hired.

CRST has been highly successful at recruiting and training new students, and we are always looking for OTR professionals to serve as lead drivers and trainers. CRST is the nation's largest team carrier, we are proud of the role we play in bringing new drivers to the industry, and we seek your help. If you are interested in helping to train new drivers, we invite you to give us a call.

We have lots of students, and we have lots of freight. But we have a true need for seasoned professionals to help us train the next generation of drivers.

Are you an experienced driver with a spouse, relative, or friend that wants to learn how to drive a truck? With our Train Your Partner Program, your partner can get their CDL training paid for by us and you can train them on the road in one of our trucks.

This is how it works:

- Your partner goes through our company paid school program to get their CDL.

- You both meet up to go through orientation after your partner gets a class A CDL.

- You go through our lead driver course the last day of orientation to learn our policies and procedures for training drivers.

- You go out and train your partner for 28 days while getting lead driver pay. Then you both get 5-6 days off at home.

- After your home time, you head out as a co-driver team: Out for 21 days and Home for 5 days.

We have a special pay promotion for the Train Your Partner Program. Students coming out of school usually earn $350 per week. With this promotion, the student comes in as a 6 month level driver and earns $.33/mile! This is a highly successful program that is unmatched in the trucking industry!

We are also currently looking for experienced drivers to staff new dedicated lanes. We currently need drivers in Louisville, KY, Seattle, WA, Newburg, NY, Denver, CO and Newark, NJ.

CRST is one of a few companies that is growing, increasing driver wages, benefits, and miles. CRST offers one of the most competitive wage packages, stable freight with an average length of haul of 1,500 miles, 80% drop and hook, 99% no touch freight, and home time that is tops in the industry. In addition CRST has a 401K, pet policy, open door policy, and the ability to provide a stable work environment, and health benefits starting at Day One.

Please call us at 800-553-2778 with any and all questions you may have about CRST. Our office hours are 7:00am - 7:00pm Central Time Monday - Friday, and 8 - 5 on Saturday. We have a recruiter Sunday mornings as well. Give us a call!

Starks is truly a top driver. He has over 30 years of driving experience and 1,400,000 Safe Driving Miles at PTL. He enjoys being a driver because he can see different places and varied weather. When away from work, Starks devotes time to football, baseball and basketball.

Massicotte is also at the pinnacle of his field, with 13 years experience and 400,000 Safe Driving Miles. He enjoys traveling and scouting out places he’d like to return with his family. Once he retires, he hopes his son Kenneth will drive for him (son Paul already does)!

PTL provides driving opportunities for solos, teams and owner operators. Prime Inc. Joins AMBER Alert Highway Network to Assist in Search for Abducted Children

Growing Initiative Uses On-Board Satellite Technology

Prime
Springfield, MO. -- Prime Inc., one of the nation’s largest truckload carriers, today announced that it has joined the AMBER Alert Highway Network, an initiative to help recover abducted children. The AMBER Alert Highway Network, a collaboration between the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children® (NCMEC) and QUALCOMM, and supported by transportation industry associations including the American Trucking Associations, is the first secondary-distribution initiative to direct AMBER Alerts to professional truck drivers who are near the Alert area.

Our drivers are the ambassadors of the road. We are privileged to participate in such an admirable cause,” said Robert E. Low, president of Prime. “Our drivers can provide an invaluable service to our children. We are proud to play a part in the AMBER Alert Highway Network.”

Prime joins the growing number of transportation and logistics companies committed to the safety of America’s children. The new initiative has the potential to add thousands of trucks and drivers to the AMBER Alert Highway Network. Combined, the member companies dispatch more than 35,000 drivers across the country every day. Prime’s company drivers and independent contractors will participate while on the roads of North America.

QUALCOMM is proud of how quickly the AMBER Alert Highway Network is growing as transportation companies such as Prime join this important effort,” said Joan Waltman, president of QUALCOMM Wireless Business Solutions. “We’re honored to work with NCMEC, Prime and their drivers across the country to help locate abducted children.”

Secondary methods of distribution such as the AMBER Alert Highway Network, which delivers Alerts through QUALCOMM’s OmniTRACS® mobile communications system, assist in achieving the overall goal of the AMBER Alert program, which is to notify as many people as possible about a recent child abduction and provide information that can help in the search for the abducted child, suspected abductor, vehicle and in the safe return of the child. The AMBER Alert program is a voluntary partnership between law enforcement agencies, broadcasters and transportation agencies to issue an urgent bulletin in the most serious child abduction cases.

Truck drivers have already proven to be a valuable asset in monitoring the nation’s roads for missing children. This technology increases the reach, and therefore the effectiveness, of AMBER Alerts,” said NCMEC president and CEO Ernie Allen. “Just one driver knowing what to look for on the road could assist law enforcement in the safer recovery of an abducted child.”

Each of the 50 United States has a statewide AMBER Alert program, as do the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Since the program’s inception in 1997, AMBER Alerts have been credited with the successful recovery of more than 270 children.

For drivers to receive Alerts through on-board communications solutions, transportation carriers must be enrolled in the AMBER Alert Highway Network. For more information about the AMBER Alert Highway Network and instructions to enroll, please visit www.qualcomm.com/qwbs or call 1-800-348-7227.

Founded in 1970, Prime Inc. is a refrigerated, flatbed and tanker carrier serving an international client base. Professional drivers are encouraged to stop by Prime’s terminal at the intersection of Interstate 44 and Highway 65 in Springfield, Missouri. For more information about Prime Inc., call 1-800-348-7227 or visit www.primeinc.com.

NCMEC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that works in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. NCMEC’s congressionally mandated CyberTipline, a reporting mechanism for child sexual exploitation, has handled more than 387,800 leads. Since its establishment in 1984, NCMEC has assisted law enforcement with more than 119,800 missing child cases, resulting in the recovery of more than 102,200 children. Wh_transporation_1
Wausau, Wis. – W.H. Transportation driver, Jeff Tarr, doesn’t just focus on his own driving career. He also uses his nearly 30 years of driving experience to help others get their own careers started.

Tarr, who has been with W.H. Transportation for 11 years and currently drives for their Long Haul division, enjoys applying his mentoring skills and experience to the company’s driver-trainer program. Tarr shares that “training is similar to a relay race, and knowledge is the baton passed between teammates. I enjoy seeing a smile on the face of my students while they are making a living.” He also says that he still maintains contact with many of his former students.

To take his skills even further, Tarr also serves as a DOT Examiner for the state of Wisconsin, in which he conducts tests for CDL Driver’s License for Class A and B semis and straight trucks.

Driven To Succeed…..

Crst_team_1
Cedar Rapids, Iowa – Spending quality time with your significant other is always a treasured activity, but rarely does one ever get to experience this luxury while working. For Irene Villicana and Michael Houchin, spending time together on the job is a reality they experience every day. Michael agrees wholeheartedly with Irene’s statement, “I wanted to find a job that I could do with my husband.” This is exactly what they were able to do when they learned about CRST’s ‘Train Your Spouse Program.’ Time spent together is very important to both Irene and Michael, especially while out on the road. Having only been with CRST Van Expedited for five months to date, they are two very dedicated drivers who are on the path to help “blaze the trails” for many future drivers. As Michael says about their dedication to the job, “My wife and I sacrifice to make ETA’s. Sometimes, it’s FUEL AND GO.” Nothing says dedication and dependability like that kind of attitude!

Before becoming a proud company driver for CRST, Michael served for eight years as a Combat Marine in the United States Marine Corps. During his time in the Corps, Michael was highly decorated for his achievements and often recognized for his outstanding performances. Michael also served as a Sergeant for the California Highway Patrol and worked as a dispatcher for nine years. With his new job as a company driver for CRST, Michael has many things to be happy about and look forward to.

Spending time with his wife and being a positive representative for his company is what matters most to Michael while on the road. He states, “I am always spoken to very professionally, and the people within the company are very pleasant to me.” As much as Michael enjoys the time he gets to spend alone with his wife on the road, he is always ready to see his three children that eagerly await his arrival when he returns home each month. His children, Juston (8), Janelle (7) and Jacob (4), are what drive him to perform as well as he does each and every day.

Family is very important to Irene, as well, who also has three children of her own, Nate (23), Corey (19) and Chase (8). Irene and Michael’s dispatcher makes sure to help make family time possible for them. Irene recalls one time when, “our dispatcher went out of his way to make it possible for us to be able to attend my son Corey’s Naval Academy graduation!” One of the great things about being a driver for CRST is that she gets to see her family every month after traveling to many “really beautiful places” as Irene states.

Irene and Michael both were able to earn their CDL-A’s through CRST’s company-sponsored training program. Irene was very pleased with the fact that she had “very little out of pocket expense.” When asked what she likes most about working for CRST, Irene had many positive things to say. She states, “Our dispatcher Kevin Murphy is so awesome and great to work with. You can request your time off in advance for home time, and the staff that runs the whole show is wonderful.”

Irene and Michael both have a great head on their shoulders and possess positive, driven attitudes. When it comes to overcoming problems they may experience while on the job, they remark, “Our fleet manager and us get along and work well together. Issues are always resolved promptly!” They both agree that the mileage is very satisfying, which is something very important to any driver. Having only been with CRST for a short five months, they are looking forward to their future with the company and are already striving towards their future goal of winning honors such as the Safety and the Million Mile awards.

Michael confidently says, “We get very positive feedback from our Fleet manager. We haven’t made the ROOKIE OF THE YEAR wall yet…but we should!” With their hard work and perseverance, as well as working for a great company like CRST Van Expedited, that shouldn’t be a problem for them. Michael sums up how he feels about his job when he says, “If you have the maturity and will do anything to get the job done, then truck driving can be fun and rewarding.” Clearly, Michael and Irene are driven by this kind of outlook and standard of living every day, especially when they are on the road working together.

Whatever your level of experience may be, there is a home for you at CRST. We are the nation’s largest team company, and we run the longest average length of haul and the most miles per tractor per week in the industry. To become a part of the CRST Van Expedited team, call us at 800-553-2778 or apply online at www.joincrst.com. Also don’t forget to ask about our “Train Your Spouse” program.

“See the Nation….and get Paid While Doing it!”

Crst_country
Cedar Rapids, Iowa – CRST Van Expedited employee Jennifer Cooper is not only a proud company driver, but she is also currently serving in the U.S. Army Reserves. After serving in Iraq for fourteen months, Jennifer explains she returned home feeling, “Not quite ready to pick up where I had left off.” Jennifer says she realized that she wanted to “see the country whose freedom I am defending.” It was at that moment that Jennifer decided a career in truck driving would be an ideal way for her to see the nation while still earning an income.

Jennifer began driving for CRST Van Expedited in August of 2005 as a student driver. Jennifer learned about CRST after reading the feature article in an issue of “Team Drivers and Women in Trucking.” She states, “I thought CRST would be the perfect way for me to transition into the world of professional driving.” In the seven months that she has been with CRST, Jennifer says she has “enjoyed every minute of it.”

Jennifer states that she has also “been extremely satisfied with CRST as a whole, especially with my dispatcher, Jeff Francis.” As part of her responsibility with the Army, Jennifer must report to her monthly Weekend Drill. Jennifer claims, “My dispatcher, Jeff Francis, is a great guy to work for. He always gets me the miles I want and works with my schedule to get home for my military duty every month.” Jennifer also happily adds, “I have a great truck and haven’t ever had any major problems on the road.”

When she has to go home for her monthly duty, Jennifer loves the personal time she so rarely seems to find between driving and the Army. She says, “I go home to Orlando once a month, usually on a Thursday, do Drill on Saturday and Sunday, and then I get back on the road by Tuesday or Wednesday.” During those few days of free time, Jennifer enjoys video producing and editing, writing, and spending time with family and friends.

One of the greatest privileges Jennifer experiences while on the road is that she does not have to do it alone. She gets to spend quality time with her “husband, co-driver, and best friend, Jarrod Cooper.” Together, Jennifer and Jarrod average about 4500 to 5500 miles per week with CRST. When asked of the opportunities CRST has given them, Jennifer has many that come to mind. Speaking of one particular time, Jennifer fondly recalls, “A couple of months ago, Jarrod and I volunteered to help out with the recruiting department by acting as a military liaison. We spoke to a National Guard unit in Ohio, and showed the soldiers our truck during their drill weekend. It happened to be our drill weekend as well, and we were able to make arrangements with CRST to park our truck and fly home in time for our drill.”

Another favorite memory for Jennifer and Jarrod was an opportunity that came upon them when last year’s devastating hurricanes struck. Jennifer remembers, “During the hurricanes, CRST asked Jarrod and me if we could arrange a vehicle recovery mission to help rescue the company trucks and trailers that were parked at a yard in Houston, Texas. We willingly agreed, and with the aid of a few other fellow CRST drivers, we were able to rescue and relocate the trucks to San Antonio.” Jennifer and Jarrod were both rewarded for their brave and selfless efforts with extra pay for the load.

Throughout her employment with CRST Van Expedited, Jennifer says she has always been treated with the utmost respect as a professional. Jennifer adds, “To me, you must earn this respect and treat your managers as you wish to be treated.”

Jennifer enthusiastically states while speaking about her overall experience with CRST Van Expedited, “I would absolutely recommend CRST to people who are interested in, or may be new to, the world of trucking. Their company sponsored schooling program is perfect for anyone wanting to join the industry. Not only do you get to see some truly amazing places, but you earn a great paycheck doing it.”

Whatever your level of experience, there is a home for you at CRST. We are the nation’s largest team company. We run the longest average length of haul and the most miles per tractor per week in the industry. To become a part of the CRST Van Expedited team, call us at 800-553-2778 or apply online at www.joincrst.com. Also don’t forget to ask about our recent graduate and transitioning military sign-on bonus and orientation pay.

Paschall Truck Lines Announces February Awards

Paschall_truck_linesPaschall Truck Lines (PTL) congratulates the winners of the February Company Driver and Owner Operator of the Month Awards. William Hargrove is the Company Driver of the Month and Stephen Grissom is the Owner Operator of the Month.

Hargrove has over 21 years of driving experience under his belt, but one run in particular marked a milestone in his career.” “I drove over a mountain two-lane truck route in California several years ago,” said Hargrove. “It was rough going and when I reached my destination in San Jose, other drivers told me I could call myself a real truck driver. They said hardly anyone travels that road anymore!”

Aside from exciting experiences, Hargrove enjoys trucking because it keeps him busy and he is able to see and understand how America works while meeting many good people on the road. This achievement marks his third Driver of the Month Award and he is also honored to have numerous safe driving awards.

First an Army driver during Vietnam then a driver for a private company, Grissom joined PTL in 1998 to chase his dream of becoming an owner operator. Although he loves driving, Grissom says the most exciting times are those when he is able to return home to his wife of 23 years, Linda.

Grissom, named Owner Operator of the Month previously, says his favorite part of being a truck driver is the freedom from working at a desk and doing the same things day in, day out. He also loves the view from his cab and says the changing scenery keeps him from being bored.

PTL provides driving opportunities for solos, teams and owner operators. The company offers a competitive pay package, including great sign-on bonuses for owner operators and company drivers. PTL also offers a competitive fuel surcharge along with a fuel bonus, incentives to run in New York City and Canada, guaranteed home time and no loading or unloading. To find out more about the opportunities at PTL, call 1-800-848-0405 or visit www.ptl-inc.com for an online application.
