Jerry Clay Completes Lease at Boyd Bros.

Reidsville, NC. -- Jerry Clay, an owner operator with Boyd Bros. Transportation, recently paid off the four year lease on his 2002 International a year early. “I have to give all the credit to my driver manager. He has kept me above water. I have had very few low paying weeks,” he said. “My International is one of the best trucks in the market. I am happy to have the lease completed.” 
   
Clay, who started with Boyd Bros. four years ago, plans to stay with the company a long time. “I have worked for a few other places, but I like it here. Boyd Bros. is a great place. They are on the top of the list when it comes to trucking companies,” he said.
   
The transportation industry is something Clay learned about from family. “Nearly all of my family members were truckers, but my uncles are the ones who persuaded me. They wanted me to do something that would pay off and it has,” he said. “My heart has always been in trucking. That’s why I’m still here after 35 years.”
   
Married with three children, Clay enjoys spending time with family. When he has free time, you’ll most likely find him on one of his two boats. “I also do a little gardening. I used to do a little of that on the side. I enjoy it a lot,” he said.

2007 Volvo 780 Tractors Now Available in Hill Bros. Lease Purchase Program

Omaha, Nebraska — For the first time, drivers at Hill Bros. Transportation can choose to lease a brand-new Volvo tractor. To increase tractor selection for drivers in their lease purchase program as well as company drivers, Hill Bros. recently ordered fifty 2007 Volvo 780 tractors in addition to the 2007 Kenworth T-600 and Peterbilt 387 models (and pre-owned trucks) already available in the program.

“The Volvo’s aerodynamic build makes it very fuel efficient,” said Abbie Reed, Owner Operator Program Administrator. “That’s why it appeals to so many drivers, and why we wanted them to have the opportunity to lease one.” The 2007 Volvo tractor is equipped with a 535 horsepower, 13-speed D-16 engine. It features a roomy, 81” Neo-classic sleeper, including a refrigerator and foldable workstation; a 236” wheelbase; and a 3:42 Meritor rear end.

Payments on these new Volvo tractors average $441 to $468 a week throughout the four-year lease. The $2,500 security deposit is fully refundable at the end of the lease term.
