Decker
Decker beat out 15 other entries in the “Lights at Night” category with their winning entry: a 1979 “359” Peterbilt Extended Hood Wrecker, nicknamed “Jerry’s Toy.” The Decker Body and Maintenance Shop in Fort Dodge restored the truck and transformed it into to a showstopper.

Delia Moon Meier, Senior Vice President of Iowa 80, says this event is a great place to celebrate and learn more about trucking. “It’s our way of saying thank you to the millions of truck drivers who deliver the goods we consume,” Meier said. “Whether it’s groceries, gas, clothes or cars, you can bet it was delivered by a truck.”

Decker Truck Line, Inc, and Iowa Central Community College (ICCC) also participated in the Jamboree with a shared booth at the show. Representatives from both participated in manning the booth and answering questions from attendees: Darin Ladlie, Decker Owner/Operator Recruiter; Ernie Epperson, Decker Driver Recruiter; Duane Baardson, Coordinator ICCC Transportation Technology Center; Jeff Frank, Director ICCC Transportation Technology Center; and Bill Warren, ICCC Transportation Technology Center Recruiter.
