RUAN DRIVER RECEIVES MILLION MILE SAFETY AWARD

DES MOINES, IOWA -- Ruan Transport Corporation recently honored driver John Gorman, who received the Ruan Million Mile Safety Award. This remarkable achievement recognizes his one million miles of accident-free driving for Ruan.

Dave Cochran, Gorman’s terminal manager, selected him to receive this prestigious award. “John is a very professional and conscientious driver, who always takes care of the equipment and performs to the highest standards. He is looked upon by his peers as one that will always assist in any way he can – whether it is advice, helping to load or unload, or even just moral support,” Cochran said of Gorman, who has dedicated 10 years of outstanding service driving for Ruan.

A former Ruan Red R award recipient, Gorman has also received numerous annual safety awards with Ruan and two safe driving awards with Knight Transportation.

Gorman will be presented his award at the annual safety recognition banquet in Fall 2008, where he will receive a personal plaque of recognition.

MAGNUM AWARDED FOR 99.9% ON TIME RATE

Indianapolis, IN. -- Magnum Express recently received the Lowes Home Improvement Stores’ Platinum Service award. The award honors them for 99.9% on time service. This marks the sixth consecutive year that Magnum has been recognized for their outstanding service by Lowes.

In 2007, Magnum delivered approximately 10,000 loads for Lowes Home Improvement Stores and was on time 99.97%, with only 4 loads being delivered late. Barr-Nunn Driver Experiences Race Excitement From the Pit

SOUTH BOSTON, VA -- Saturday, April 19th was a special day for Barr-Nunn Transportation driver Michael Witt, his daughter, and VISVIVA #65 Chevrolet driver Mikey Kile.

Barr-Nunn, a proud associate sponsor of Mac Hill Motorsports, for which Kile drives, sent Witt and his 12-year-old girl to the Miller Lite 250 at the South Boston Speedway, where they watched from the excitement of the pit area as the rookie placed 3rd.

“It was our first time attending the races,” said Witt, whose daughter began a fascination with racing by driving go-karts. “We had a really great time until it started to rain, but it was exhilarating overall.”

Witt shared in that exhilaration with Kile, who had a successful and eventful day. In the very first race of his career, Kile earned the Miller Lite Rookie of the Race award on top of his high placing.

“It was an honor to be able to participate in the race,” Kile said. “I would like to thank Barr-Nunn for sponsoring the races and making it possible for drivers to do what it is they do.” Kile said he aims for continued success and the Miller Lite Rookie of the Year award.

Barr-Nunn drivers experience USAR races from the Pits

Granger, IA -- Barr-Nunn Transportation, a nation-wide leader in the industry, is proud to utilize their partnership with Mac Hill Motorsports to send drivers to USAR Pro Cup races. March was an exciting month for Company Drivers Luis Bonilla and Melvin Gann, they received their once in a lifetime opportunity to see racing up close and in the pits.

On Saturday, March 15th, Luis Bonilla and his son attended the Sears Auto Center 200 at the USA International Speedway in Lakeland, FL. Their passes allowed them access to the pit and garage and an experience neither would forget.

“We were up close with the crew and watched the mechanics work on all of the fancy cars,” Bonilla said. “I felt like a little kid and didn’t want to leave the track. The two also received a personalized tour from Team Owner Jack McNelly, giving the Bonilla’s another chance at an up-close view of race life.

On March 29th, Barr-Nunn sent another driver to a USAR Pro Cup event. Company Driver Melvin Gann and his brother attended the BFGoodrichTires.com 250 at the South Georgia Motorsports Park in Cecil, GA. They also had pit and garage passes and met McNelly, and Gann was mesmerized by it all. "The race was down-home and there was a real fight for the finish. You couldn't get any better.”

Steve French Takes 3rd Place in TCA Driver of the Year

St. Cloud, Minn. -- Anderson Trucking Service, Inc. (ATS) is pleased to congratulate driver Steve French who has been named the 3rd Place in the Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) 2007 Driver of the Year Contest for Company drivers.

The contest is sponsored by Truckload Carriers Association, Detroit Diesel and Trucker News.

The announcement was made at the TCA Annual Convention, at the Atlantis Hotel on Paradise Island in the Bahamas. “We were very pleased to have Steve chosen to represent ATS and the Truckload Carrier Industry as a whole. Steve and his wife Nancy are an exemplary representatives of the best of the best in truck driving”. Stated Rollie Anderson, CEO and President of ATS.

“Steve French has been a driver for ATS since 1995, and has logged over 1.2 million accident free miles. Steve is authorized to haul loads up to 12’ wide, 14’ 3” high and 85’ long, which make his safety record even more impressive”. Stated Scott Anderson, ATS Director of Safety.

Steve French was added to the ATS Million Mile Club in 2005.

Steve is also a member of “Highway Watch” a National Safety and Security program that uses the skills, experience and “road smarts” of America’s highway workers to help protect the nations critical infrastructure and the transportation of goods, services and people. Steve takes great pride in stopping to help motorists along his way. “I am the guy you call in a pinch… the one you turn to when you need help” says French.

Steve and his wife Nancy travel the roadways as a team from coast-to-coast and up along the Alcan Highway back and fourth to Alaska and throughout North America.

On one of his most memorable trips Steve went to Nova Scotia and after safely delivering his load, took time to take a dip in the Artic Ocean and join the Artic Ocean Polar Bears Club.

“Steve has always been a leader to the other drivers in our company. One example of this is hauling loads to Alaska. Steve has driven the Alcan Highway many times. Because of this he frequently runs with other, less experienced drivers when there are loads going to Alaska. Steve is helpful to them, pointing out possible safety issues and what can be done to prevent problems”, added Rollie.

TRANSPORT AMERICA RECOGNIZES 2007 DRIVERS OF THE MONTH FOR DECEMBER

EAGAN, MN. -- Minnesota-based truckload carrier Transport America recently announced its December Drivers of the Month for 2007. Each driver is recognized for his or her outstanding service to Transport America and the company’s customers.

Professional company drivers selected for December were Brad Clevenger, who has been with Transport America for three years; Kirk Plankey with the company for six years; and Palmer Boyd, with the company for 1 year.

Professional contractors selected for December were Gery Schonhardt, who has been with Transport America for 26 years; Franklin Jones, with the company for three months; and Margaret Debra, with the company for five years.

"We are extremely proud of each of these drivers; not simply because this is a great achievement individually, but because they also represent the Transport America driving team - true professionals that value safety and provide industry-leading customer service every day," said Scott Hunt, Vice President of Operations.

Fleet managers nominate drivers each month for this honor. The selection criteria include on-time customer service, safety and working percentage. RUAN DRIVER RECEIVES MILLION MILE SAFETY AWARD

DES MOINES, Iowa — Ruan Transport Corporation recently honored driver, Wayne Blubaugh, who received the Ruan Million Mile Safety Award. This remarkable achievement recognizes his two million miles and 22 years of accident-free driving for Ruan.

Tim Laffoon, Blubaugh’s terminal manager, selected him to receive this prestigious award. "I cannot say Enough good things about Wayne,” Laffoon stated. “He has been with Ruan since 1985. That alone says a lot about Wayne and his commitment to Ruan. He is always willing to go above and beyond to help with any problems our Customers have, and is always willing to help out a fellow driver to ensure they also get the job done in safe manner."

Throughout his 22 years at Ruan, Blubaugh’s dedication to his company has helped earn him numerous service and safety awards. He says he’s always been comfortable with this company. “I found a home at Ruan,” Blubaugh stated proudly.
