ATRI, FMCSA AND CBP DISCUSS BORDER ISSUES TONIGHT ON SIRIUS RADIO

Alexandria, VA – The American Transportation Research Institute will be discussing the ACE program and other border crossing issues with Customs & Border Protection (CBP) and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) on two separate satellite radio shows airing live tonight and tomorrow morning. The border crossing shows precede the March 29th release of ATRI’s CBP-sponsored assessment of the ACE system and its impact on trucking operations.

The first show on the Midnight Trucking Radio Network airs at 1 a.m. CDT on Sirius channel 147. The second show airs at 5 a.m. CDT on the Open Road Café (Sirius channel 147). Participants include Dan Murray, ATRI Vice President; Lou Samenfink, Director of CBP’s Modernization Program; and Bill Quade, Director of FMCSA’s Office of Enforcement and Compliance. Listeners are welcome to call in and ask questions of the in-studio guests.

ATRI is the trucking industry’s 501(c)(3) not-for-profit research organization. It is engaged in critical research relating to freight transportation’s essential role in maintaining a safe, secure and efficient transportation system.

I feel that the ATRI's conclusions regarding the setup costs of e-Manifest, particularly to small carriers is not accurate. We have posted our opinion at the following address: http://www.emanifest.ca/news/archives/2007/04/report-impact-of-ace-emanifest-on-carriers/
