Decker Truck Line Employees Bring Holiday Cheer to Families in Need
Fort Dodge, Iowa -- Employees at Decker Truck Line, Inc. made the holidays a little brighter for two Iowa families. Each year during the Christmas season, Decker employees partner with the Iowa State Department of Human Services to organize donations for families in need. The money raised is used to purchase gifts for the families’ children to open on Christmas Day. This year, Decker employees raised just over $1,000 for the cause.
On December 22, 2006, Decker’s “adopted’ families visited the corporate headquarters to receive their gifts, which were wrapped in colorful paper and arranged around a Christmas tree. In addition to purchased gifts, the families also received a number of donations. Among those donations were a twin bed and bed frame for one of the children who did not have a bed, and two computers complete with learning programs, one for each family to take home.

This is really nice. It's good to see companies and employees that think about the community outside of the business walls. I applaud this and hope that more companies encourage the same type of thinking.
